Did some testing yesterday for my P finally. I just have a couple of things I'd like your input on. At idle, FRP was around psi.
P0093 OBD-II Trouble Code: Fuel System Leak Detected Large Leak
Anyways, diagnostics led me to the high pressure side testing, and the bottle test. Looks like the injectors are okay, right? Still doesn't explain my problem though. Tested again, same results. So I measured the return on the injector pump, and it returned 28ml. I looked for a spec on this but didn't find one. I did find a "total return" spec, which I think was 26 or 28ml? Does this sound right?
I believe I have a bad injector pump. Just wanting to know if you guys agree before I spend the cash. I would think FPR replacement first.
Not sure what the return rates are off the top of my head. Would tell you quick if it was some sort of wiring issue. When I'm driving it, the pump can achieve psi just fine.
P0093 – Fuel system leak -large leak detected
After that it struggles, and sets the P I unplugged the FPR at idle and expected the rail pressure to climb. But it stayed at around psi. I would think bad FPR, they are cheaper anyways. How many miles on the CP3? FPR are not the cheapest, but I would put a new one on the new CP3 anyways so you are not really wasting money. I was thinking bad FPR also. So I did the test on it and it passed. Then checked to see if the valve was leaking, and it wasn't. CP3 has k on it. No, that will work just fine, are you sure it is getting all the fuel it needs?
I would think you should have change messing with the FPR at idle even with a bad CP3 And I'm just throwing ideas out there to try before you spend money on it, good chance it is just the cp3.
Did the vacuum test to make sure there was no restriction in the supply side. Replaced the fuel filter on day one of ownership, along with a bunch of other preventive maint. I'm hoping that somebody can verify that my CP3 return rates are too high, and condemning the pump is the right move here.
Or should I do something different or better? Thanks for helping guys! Okay, so new question. Of course, a good price would be nice, but I'd pay more to have a better quality pump. I'd like the seller to have a good track record, and stand behind their part. Any sponsors on here that can help me? Or is this a part better purchased at the dealer? Ive got a brand new gm pump for plus the ride, its an lbz pump and it has no fpr on it.This can happen for multiple reasons and a mechanic needs to diagnose the specific cause for this code to be triggered in your situation.
Our certified mobile mechanics can come to your home or office to perform the Check Engine Light diagnostic. A code exists for a large leak, small leak, and very small leak.
There is a range of fuel leakage programmed into the Powertrain Control Module PCM by the manufacturer to determine which code will be stored based on the amount of leakage.
The mechanic will start by visually inspecting the fuel system, searching primarily for the leak. Since the leak is considered a large leak, it should be fairly easy to locate. Once the source of the fuel leak has been found, the mechanic will repair or replace the part that is causing the large fuel leak.
Considering that the issue at hand is a large fuel leak, it would be quite difficult to make a mistake during diagnosis. This issue is as simple as locating the fuel leak and having it repaired. The P code is very serious. Having this code stored in your Powertrain Control Module can be a safety issue. With this code in the system, it is a safety hazard because a fire can be caused by this. It is very important to have the fuel leak located and repaired as soon as possible.
Any part of the fuel system can cause this code. Some of the parts that could be replaced to repair this issue would include:. It is not advisable to drive the vehicle very much with a P code stored in the PCM. A large fuel leak is one of the most major safety concerns that a vehicle could possibly have.
Someone driving by who tosses a cigarette out the window could be oblivious to your large fuel leak and cause personal injury or death. Our certified mobile mechanics can come to your home or office to perform the Check Engine Light diagnostic. This code is similar to P P may also be seen with codes that case misfires, lean, and rich conditions.
P is a OBD2 trouble code that tells us there is high fuel pressure found in the fuel system. This high fuel pressure is detected by the fuel pressure sensor located on the fuel rail. Once the high fuel pressure is detected the ECM causes a Check Engine Light to be seen on the dashboard of the vehicle. P then causes the vehicle to go into a failsafe mode until normal fuel pressure is detected. Codes will all have their own freeze frame information associated with the code that tells us what specific conditions the vehicle was under when the code was set.
Codes will then be cleared and a road test performed, this road test should be under similar circumstances as the freeze frame data for an accurate result. If the Check Engine Light returns during the test drive a visual inspection will be done for the fuel system. Fuel lines, fuel rail, external fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator will all be checked.Busify h5ahhbysn uscis opt
If nothing abnormal is found during the visual inspection, than a mechanical fuel pressure tester will be used to check fuel pressure at the fuel rail. This information will be compared to the readings from the fuel pressure sensor to determine any discrepancies. Replacing components without testing them is the most common mistake made during P diagnostic.
Step by step diagnosis is the easiest way for foolproof answers, not doing so leads to repairs that do not fix the faults and wasted time, effort, and money.
P is commonly caused by a kinked fuel line, this is usually due to something hitting the line. The only way to see this is to perform a thorough visual inspection. P can be a serious code but one that is not seen very commonly.
The symptoms listed above make the vehicle unsafe to drive, so you should consult a mechanic as soon as possible before getting back on the road.
isuzu or duramax diesel techs, I have a techincal problem here?
A P code should be taken seriously when it is found, as it could potentially make the vehicle unsafe to drive. The fuel pressure test kit is a needed tool for accurate diagnosis of P Though scan tools will tell us what the fuel pressure sensor reading is, these may not be accurate if the fuel pressure sensor is faulty. The fuel pressure test port is found on or near the fuel rail and is used to provide an accurate reading to base findings from.Theoretically you can drive for a few weeks or even months with a broken MAF sensor.
You will notice a decrease in gas mileage and over time the car will eventually start stalling a lot. So you should chech it on our car models. The crankshaft sensor signals the fuel injection computer or the ignition control when the cylinders are firing. This causes the ignition coil to provide a spark and the injector to inject fuel into each cylinder at the right time. If either sensor isn't working correctly, the car will run rough and the engine will be less efficient.
In later car models, the car's computer can usually keep the vehicle running, but the engine warning light on the dashboard goes on to warn the driver. Parts or components should not be replaced with reference to only a P DTC. The vehicle service manual should be consulted for more information on possible causes of the fault, along with required testing.Upvc door compression adjustment

P0093 CHEVROLET - Fuel System Leak Detected Large Leak
The entire fuel system has been replaced now and it's still setting the code and putting the truck into reduced power. Is there a way to turn limp mode off for that code so I can log and see what the rail pressure is doing if the truck doesn't limp? I want to see if that pressure drops and stays low or if it bounces back. Completely stumped on this truck. New fuel lines, new cp3, new injectors, ect ect and still throwing low rail pressure codes.
Very frustrating. I don't want to turn the code off and disable limp as a solution because that's obviously not a good idea but I would like to see what that pressure does if the truck doesn't limp. I just have my doubts that the problem is ever going to get fixed. There's just not many more parts to replace. New cp3 and regulator, fprv tested and passed, new injectors, all new fuel lines, filter head inspected for leaks and the fuel heater checked, new fuel cooler, and new bucket in the tank. I did a log today and saw something very odd with frpdes From down to in one frame and just kinda bouncing all over the place. Not sure what's going on there and it didn't do that on a previous log from a month or two ago.
At this point I'm open to any and all suggestions or advice. So i have the good ol first gen dirty max and the sucker sure likes that p code.
Chased it over and over again and i can not find the fuel system leak that trips the phantom code. Shimmed the fprv. No fuel in the oil. Sure would think that a fuel leak would make a good mess that could be detected. Something is fishy here and i cant place it. Kat's Garage. Moved here. I am wondering if the crack in the housing is so small you can't actually see it. LB7's are notorious for cracks in the housing. If you pump it enough it should get hard. LLY 2 trans, McRat tuning Burn Down. Burn Down's Garage. Im with Kat it should pump up hard. Something else that can cause low fuel pressure is high injector return rates. The balance rates can be perfect as well, but the injector is still returning to much fuel. However I think its something in your filter head, try using a hose plier on the discharge line of the filter head, see if it will pump hard then.
If it does your problem is not filter head Ya sorry I wasn't clear but I actually took the housing off and capped one end and applied pressure through the other and it held pressure like it should.
But when I put my pump to the line headed away from where the housing is it would not hold pressure. I could apply 17 pounds and just watch the needle drop and I could here air escaping into the tank. Do you know what the return rates on the injectors should be? McRat's Garage. A measurement system somehow? I did a 01 with that code this summer and its a process you have to go threw to eliminate everything else and if you cant find anything if all is as it should be then your cp3 is bad. The truck i had here had brand new injectors installed and a brand new fprv installed so those were ruled out.
I changed the fpr,no change. I did a vacum test on the test port and the vacum was good. After that it was concluded the cp3 was bad. Good luck and let us know how it does. Also welcome to DD. If the fprv is for sure not leaking then I'd say you've got a restriction somewhere.
